RPG Maker

I'm still working on that RPG Maker game that I was doing just for fun. Thought I'd share a little of the progress for anyone who might be interested. There's not much to the game. I've just created a reasonable size town with a forest and a labyrinth dungeon besides that. Every building in town is enterable. The largest building is the inn, which has 5 floors and 4 rooms on each floor, also all enterable.

The object of the game is to collect all 100 CG images. There are various means of collecting them, such as finding them just sitting on the ground somewhere, by solving puzzles, and a few that can be bought from the merchant--who also sells keys to the many locked doors in the labyrinth.

Each room of the labyrinth is divided off by a locked door. In order to get the keys for the doors, you have to buy them from the merchant in town. You earn money by battling in the forest. The catch when buying all the keys from one convenient location is the price continues to increase on each key. And when you unlock each room in the labyrinth, you have to solve a puzzle, riddle or trivia before being rewarded with a new CG image.

The game is simple and very pointless. It's just something I've felt like doing when I don't feel like doing anything else. I'll share it here in case there is anyone who feels like checking it out.

I'm also learning Game Maker, and as I improve my drawing skills I'll be making an actual original game in that with 100% original artwork. In that I'm planning to make a sidescrolling platformer, or possibly a metroidvania if I'm feeling up to a larger task like that. Improving my art is the first obstacle there.
